App Privacy

Privacy in the TAKTALON app

Last updated: 7 November 2026. These notices explain personal-data processing in TAKTALON, including participation in a TestFlight beta. Separate website privacy notices apply when you visit the TAKTALON website.

1. Controller
Arne Jansen, Hinterm Bach 26, 21444 Vierhöfen, Germany. Email: salon@taktalon.com. These notices cover our app functions and support. Apple additionally processes data independently for its platform services.

2. Local play and settings
TAKTALON does not require its own user account. You may choose a display name instead of your real name. The app stores names, table setups, display and sound settings on your device. A random device identifier supports recognition in local games. Saved host or local games contain the board, cards, history, rules and participant assignments. The host holds the complete game state, including all hands. Learning exercises use a separate temporary state. Processing provides the play and saving functions you request under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Where personal technical settings are necessary for reliable operation and error prevention, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR applies; our interest is a functioning, secure game.

3. Local-network multiplayer
Hosting or joining a local table involves processing network addresses, table names, game identifiers, display names, seat assignments and joining information between participating devices. Bonjour makes the table discoverable on the local network. Players receive public game information and only the hand authorised for their role. Participant assignments support rejoining. Processing is necessary for your requested multiplayer game under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Local TCP connections do not have additional transport encryption, so use a trusted network. The table code is not strong proof of identity. There is no developer-operated central game server.

4. Optional Game Center
Invited internet games use Apple's Game Center and GameKit for platform sign-in, invitations and transmission. App-scoped player identifiers bind participants to a game; the host saves derived assignments for resuming. These assignments are not anonymous. The app may show your Game Center name in sign-in status and the inviting player. We maintain no separate friends database and offer no public automatic matchmaking. Our processing provides the internet game you request under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Apple's Game Center privacy notice explains its independent processing and sharing settings. You can manage Game Center in system settings; it is not required for local solo play.

Table telegrams
During a multiplayer game, everyone at the table can exchange public text messages over the local network or Game Center. There are no private messages to individuals or teams. Transmitted data includes the message, display name, time, game reference and a stable pseudonymous sender key derived from the participant identifier. This hash supports recognition and blocking; it is not anonymisation. The app does not import contacts from your address book. The host confirms and saves the current history of up to 100 messages with the game. You receive this history again when you rejoin. On guest devices, the history and unsent draft remain in session memory; they are not saved as a separate persistent chat history and are discarded when you leave the game or quit the app. Older messages may remain in the host's local backup copies. Processing provides the table conversation you request under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.

Blocking and basic filtering
A local block list stores pseudonymous sender keys on your device until you unblock them or remove the relevant app data. It is not sent to the developer as a central ban list. Blocked telegrams are hidden on your device. A local basic filter checks message text against stored problematic expressions; it cannot identify every inappropriate message. No external AI or moderation service is contacted for this purpose. These safeguards serve our legitimate interest in a safe game under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

5. Free introduction and purchases
All play options are free in this introductory version, including hosting and resuming your own multiplayer tables. The app does not request product, price, purchase or entitlement data through StoreKit, observe purchase transactions or offer a purchase or purchase-restoration flow in this version. It does not create a purchase entitlement. The free introduction has no set end date and does not promise a permanent full-version licence. These notices would be updated before a later paid phase is introduced. Apple's own processing for the App Store, TestFlight and optional Game Center is unchanged and is described in the relevant sections.

6. TestFlight and diagnostics
When you use a TestFlight beta, Apple processes device, usage and crash information and shares diagnostics with the development team. Optional feedback may include text and screenshots. Personal invitations can reveal your name and email; public-link invitations have different visibility. This platform processing exists even without our own analytics SDK. We use the information to investigate bugs and improve the beta under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, in our legitimate interest in reliable and secure development. We do not use it for advertising. Please exclude private hands, passwords and unnecessary confidential information from feedback. Apple's TestFlight privacy notice explains collection and conditions.

7. Support and contact
For email, telephone or postal enquiries, we process the contact details, content and necessary technical information you provide to resolve your request. Contract-related enquiries are processed under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR; other enquiries under Article 6(1)(f), in our interest in answering questions and resolving errors. salon@taktalon.com uses iCloud Mail, so Apple receives data as the email service provider. Send only necessary information and conceal names and private hands in screenshots. The app does not automatically upload support information without your active contact.

Reporting telegrams: The app can prepare an email draft to salon@taktalon.com. It includes the selected message, display name and pseudonymous sender key, time and game identifier so we can assess the incident. The draft is not sent automatically. You review it and decide in your email application whether to send it and what additional information to include. Opening or copying a draft does not mean a report has been received. We process received reports to investigate and address abuse under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, in our interest in protecting participants and operating reliably. The recipients and retention rules for support data described here also apply.

8. Recipients and Apple services
Depending on your choices, recipients are participating players and hosts, Apple for Game Center, App Store and TestFlight, and the email provider for support. For users in the European Economic Area, the relevant Apple entity is generally Apple Distribution International Ltd., Hollyhill Industrial Estate, Hollyhill, Cork, Ireland. Other Apple entities and service providers may participate worldwide, including outside the EEA. Apple's privacy policy explains its transfer mechanisms, including applicable adequacy decisions and standard contractual clauses. A European provider address does not mean all processing takes place in Europe. We operate no separate worldwide analytics or game server for TAKTALON.

9. Retention and deletion
Local settings and saved games generally remain until you change or delete them. You can delete individual saved games in the app. This does not automatically remove general settings, damaged recovery copies that cannot be reliably assigned, copies on another host's device or system backups. There is currently no general reset-all function. Completely removing local data also requires attention to platform-specific app, container and backup settings; contact us for help. Deleting a game does not delete Apple's purchase history or Game Center account. We retain identifiable support and exported diagnostic information only as necessary to resolve requests or errors or protect legal claims, then delete it or remove identifying details unless legal retention obligations apply. Apple applies its own retention rules. The app does not fully control device or iCloud backups.

Deleting a game on the host device also removes its telegram history and identifiable backup copies stored there. It does not recall messages already delivered or remove copies held by other participants, in emails or in system backups. The local block list is a preference and remains when a game is deleted.

10. Advertising, analytics and automated decisions
The app has no advertisements and no developer-added advertising or analytics SDKs. It uses no advertising identifier or cross-device advertising profiles. This does not exclude Apple's platform processing, TestFlight diagnostics or multiplayer sharing described above. We make no automated decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects under Article 22 GDPR. Computer opponents calculate moves; the app does not send your input to an external generative-AI service. Illustrations, text and sound files are bundled resources.

11. Your choices
You do not need to give us your real name. A contact enquiry needs a way for us to reply. Without information necessary for a network game, that function cannot operate; local solo play is separate. Optional Apple services have Apple's additional sign-in and authorisation requirements. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it prospectively at any time; this does not affect earlier lawful processing.

12. Your rights
Subject to the GDPR, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and data portability. For processing based on Article 6(1)(f), you may object on grounds relating to your particular situation. Contact salon@taktalon.com. Rights apply against the controller responsible for the relevant processing; Apple's own privacy services also cover its account and platform processing. You may complain to a supervisory authority, particularly where you live, work or believe an infringement occurred. The authority for our location is the State Commissioner for Data Protection of Lower Saxony, Prinzenstraße 5, 30159 Hannover, Germany; its complaint service is linked below.
